The property is in a place as peculiar as charming. The zone is called "Bosc Nou", that belongs to the residential area "Els Boscos de Valls".

The history of this area is rich. Due to the kind and smooth weather of the mediterranean inner region, at the end of the XIX century and beginning the XX, villages were built to the catalonian middle-class families for rest and holidays.

One of these villages is "Villa María Luisa", the main house and residence of the owners, inside the property "Bosc Nou", that was built in 1896.

It's an exact reproduction of one existing village in Puigcerdà (The Cerdanya), belonging to the owner´s ancestors, whose because of their delicate health they decided to be move to this place.

In front of "Villa María Luisa" we can find a small chapel dedicated to "Nuestra Señora de las Mercedes". The frontage and the exterior walls are well conserved. During the civil war in 1936 the chapel was burnt.

Close to it you can find "La Masoveria del Bosc", an old farming house, that currently is destined to Rural Tourism. This farming house belonged to the catalonian novelist Narcís Oller´s family.

They were important people that went to "Els Boscos de Valls" to spend holidays with friends and their families or to have rest and do meditation. Some examples are the political Emilio Castelar, the astronomer Coast i Solà, etc.

In the farm was living the Dr. Francesc Ribas i Soberano, Puig d´Olena Sanatorium co-founder (in Barcelona), and also Carme Vicens-Vives, well-known historian Jaume Vicens-Vives´ sister.

The region has a cultural and sentimental atmosphere, wonderful landscapes, good weather and kind people.
