Surroundings activities 

  The Alt Camp region has a great architectonic, cultural and landscaping patrimony that, joined to another regions as Conca de Barberà, Urgell, Tarragonès, Baix Penedès and Baix Camp is an excellent zone for different activities. Besides the Alt Camp region is near to Costa Dorada. Now, we go to describe you some places to visit and some things to do arround of the region:

Santes Creus Monastery that, joined to the Poblet Monastery (Conca de Barberà) and the Vallbona de les Monges Monastery, makes the Cister Route. The Cister monks lived in these monasteries in the XII century. It's possible to do this route with car, BTT and horse.

Modernist wine cellar of Nulles

Modernist wine cellars of beginning the XX century. The Cellars were built by Cèsar Martinell.


There are cellars in many places in the region as Valls, Vila-Rodona, Alió, Nulles, Cabra del Camp, etc.




The beautiful and surprising Mare de Déu de Montserrat Sanctuary in Montferri. It was built by the modernist architect Josep Mª Jujol, between 1922 and 1926. He was a Gaudí´s disciple and this sanctuary remembers to the Gaudí´s buildings.


Also, there are several museums and ecomuseums in the Alt Camp region. You can find these museums in Valls, Vila-Rodona and Alcover. You can know the cultural and rural life of the region.

Calçotada
Calçotada in our barbacue
The gastronomy is important in these lands. There is a typical main course that is famous in whole Catalonia. The main course is called "Calçotada". It is cooked with long onions and then, it is served with salad, lamb chop, pork sausage and haricot beans. For dessert: Catalonian Cream. For drink: red wine and champagne.

You can find the region folklore with the "Castellers". In this celebration are formed human towers.

  


 The mountain range of Prades is a good place to do activities in a natural environment The rivers Francolí and Brugent water the mountain range and form a lot of springs and swimming places. So that, you can enjoy the landscape, but always taking care of environment.

Also, the places watered by the river Gaià, show the millenarian trees and you can find the panoramic views from the Fontscaldes village and from Sant Jaume de Montagut Sanctuary in the Querol village.
